Biographical Note Charles Irving Wellington came to San Diego in 1892 with his wife, Elnora (Fisher) Wellington and their three children, Claudia, Roy, and Earl. Wellington worked as a house painter and contractor. He also managed and later owned the Cholla Valley Salt Plant until it was destroyed in the 1916 flood.
